Bowling club

This bowls club in Adelaide needed to reduce power consumption for the site as it was limiting their capacity to operate extra equipment at the same time.

The obvious immediate solution was to reduce the power consumed by the old technology lighting system, but at the same time lighting levels must be exceed the Australian standards for bowling at night

The other alternative was to upgrade the site power supply to a larger capacity service…but it seems wasteful to get more power when you can do more with less!


Leitech replaced the existing Metal Halide floodlights with multiple Omicron5 LED
floodlights and install on existing poles.

LED technology is significantly more efficient in terms of light output vs power consumption. The increased number of light fixtures allowed the light to be distributed across the bowling green more uniformly. Installation on existing poles ensured minimal disruption to activities of the club


New lights use only 1/3 (36%) of the power that they used to. Now other fields can be used at the same time as the bowling green without the risk of tripping power and eliminating need to upgrade power supply to site.


The Omega Series are ideally suited for a wide range of panel high bay lights and canopy installations – from cool rooms to fuel station driveway. It represents a great leap forward in replacement of the HPS and HID light products typically found in existing canopy high bay lighting applications. It’s very easy to retro-fit LED High Bay lights into cool room panel or canopy positions. The OMEGA Series are designed to maximise illumination and reduce glare.


The Omicron5  series consist of a range of high performance, compact, and long-lasting LED floodlights. These floodlights produce less heat and require less power to achieve high lighting levels, reducing running costs, and increasing savings on electricity bills.
